The Secret Garden is a micro¹, volunteer-led charity and a truly unique setting for events. As a historic outdoor garden, however, our facilities are limited, so we ask anyone considering holding an event with us to keep a few practical things in mind.
The garden has electricity, Wi-Fi and cold running water. There are currently no kitchen facilities, one toilet with limited accessibility, and no indoor space or wet-weather alternative in the event of poor weather. The Secret Garden also does not hold an entertainment licence.
Groups using the garden are responsible for ensuring that their event is appropriately managed and insured, and all activities must be compatible with the Antony Dale Trust’s charitable objects.
We love hearing ideas for events and activities that could make good use of the garden. To help our Trustees understand your proposal and consider whether it is suitable for the space and aligned with our charitable aims, please tell us a little more about your plans using the form below.
1 The Charity Commission and the UK civil sector generally group charities by gross annual income into specific size bands rather than strict staff numbers. Common income classifications include:
• Small / Micro charities: Under £100,000 (with micro usually under £10,000).
• Medium charities: £100,000 to £1 million.
• Large charities: Over £1 million (often subdivided into large up to £10m, major up to £100m, and super-major above £100m).
